Walk through it one step at a time
Decide this is the right app for your device
Smarters earns its place when you have several different kinds of screen and want one routine that fits all of them. Before you install, be clear about what you are setting up on. On an Android box or Firestick you could instead use TiviMate for a better guide, and on a Samsung or LG you have Smart IPTV as an alternative. If you only ever watch on one Android device and care most about live sport, read the TiviMate guide first. For everything else, and certainly for a mixed household, Smarters is the one to standardize on, and the rest of these steps assume you have chosen it.
Install the right version for your device
Android TVs and phones take it straight from the Google Play Store. A Firestick cannot use Play, so it is sideloaded through the Downloader app, which the Firestick guide covers screen by screen. Samsung and LG carry it in their own stores listed simply as IPTV Smarters. On an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV the free app is called Smarters Player Lite, so search that exact name. For Windows and Mac the installer comes from the developer site. If you are unsure which applies, tell us the make and model on WhatsApp and we send you the correct link so you do not install the wrong thing by mistake.
Choose Login with Xtream Codes API
Open the app, accept the terms on the first screen, and pick the option that reads Login with Xtream Codes API. Do not take the M3U route unless we have specifically pointed you at it, because the Xtream login pulls your channels, the on-demand library and the full program guide in one go, where an M3U often brings the channels alone. Choosing the wrong one here is behind a lot of half-working setups, so if the screen offers both, take Xtream and leave the playlist option alone.
Enter your IPTVUSA4K details exactly
Type any profile name you like, then the username, password and server URL exactly as they appear in your WhatsApp message, including the http:// at the front of the server address and the port number on the end. The username and password are case sensitive, so mind the capitals. Tap Add User. If you are copying and pasting, check nothing has picked up a trailing space, which is the classic cause of a login that should work but does not, and retype the password by hand if you are in any doubt.
Let the guide and library fill in
The app now downloads your channels, the on-demand titles and the program guide. The guide in particular can take a few minutes to populate fully, so do not judge it on the first thirty seconds. Once it settles, open Settings, then EPG, and switch on Enable EPG on live TV so the current program shows while a channel is playing. This is also where you reload the guide later if it ever looks stale or a day behind.
Set the player and confirm it works
Go to Settings, then Player settings, and select the built-in player with hardware decoding, which handles 4K and FHD cleanly on most hardware. Now test it properly: play a channel from a couple of different categories, let one run for a minute, and open the guide to confirm the programs line up. If a single channel stutters while the rest are fine, switch that one channel to software decoding from the player menu rather than changing the global setting. A stable picture and a populated guide mean you are finished, and the identical login is ready for the next device without any new setup.
When something goes wrong (and how we fix it)
The login is rejected even though the details look right
The server URL is almost always the culprit, and specifically the port. One customer kept entering http://stream.example.com and getting nowhere; the message had given him http://stream.example.com:8080 and he had dropped the :8080 off the end. The username and password were perfect, but without the port the app has no door to knock on. Put the whole address in, with http, host and port, and nothing typed after the port, and the same credentials go straight in.
"Your account is expired"
That is the subscription reaching its end date rather than a fault in the app. Renew on WhatsApp and the identical username and password start working again within minutes, with nothing to reinstall and no settings lost. If you have just renewed and still see it, pull down to refresh the user list once, which forces the app to re-check the account.
The channel list is empty after a successful login
Pull down to refresh, then sign out of the profile and back in. If it is still bare, something in the server address is slightly off even though the login was accepted, and the port is again the usual offender. Send us a screenshot of the user details on WhatsApp and we will spot it for you rather than leaving you to guess.
The app keeps closing on a Firestick
Clear its cache under Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications, then reopen it. If it still closes, remove it and install a current build, because an old APK left over on a newer Fire OS is a frequent cause of crashes on the cheaper sticks, especially the basic Fire TV Stick rather than the 4K Max.
More players that take the same login

IPTV Smarters Pro IPTV FAQ
Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
Yes, the app is free on every platform and always has been. What surprises people is that it opens empty: it carries no channels of its own and needs a subscription entered as an Xtream login before anything appears. Nothing is ever charged inside the app itself, so if a screen asks you to pay to unlock channels, you are not in the real app and should back out.
What is the IPTV Smarters Pro subscription people search for?
There is no product by that name. People typing it are looking for a service that works inside the app, which is exactly what we provide: an Xtream Codes account carrying the full channel list and on-demand library, entered once and then usable on every device you own. The app is the free shell; the subscription is what fills it.
Smarters Pro or TiviMate, which should I use?
Smarters is free, simpler and runs on nearly everything. TiviMate has a much better guide plus recording and multi-view for around $10 a year, but it exists only on Android. If live sport on an Android box is your main use, TiviMate pays for itself quickly; for a mixed household, or anyone who wants one app everywhere, Smarters is the better fit. Many people run both, and we are happy to set up either on WhatsApp.
